The 2019 Chablis Vau de Ligneau 1er Cru shows a bit of reduction on the nose, though rigorous swirling seems to enliven the aromatics, revealing lemon peel, flint and chamomile scents. The palate is well balanced with a smooth, quite sensual opening, lovely notes of white peach intermingling with almond and a touch of toffee apple. This lacks tension, but it does offer purity and poise.
