2019 Clarendelle, Saint-Emilion, France

Savory and classic.

One of the world's most classic and popular styles of red wine, Bordeaux-inspired blends have spread from their homeland in France to nearly every corner of the New World. Wine from Bordeaux is generally earthier than those from the New World, which tends to be fruit dominant.

Clarendelle Saint-Émilion, inspired by Haut-Brion, is a clever blend of three traditional grape varieties, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. Round, forward, soft and showing an excellent display of sweet, red cherries and licorice. Enjoy this easy-going, crowd-pleaser.

93 Points - James Suckling

Blackberry, blueberry and licorice aromas follow through to a medium to full body, with integrated tannins and a delicious finish. Shows class and finesse. Like an excellent estate wine. 88% merlot, 8% cabernet franc and 4% cabernet franc. Best after 2023.
